On January 15, 2015, I was the driver in a life-altering car accident.  It involved ice, an oncoming truck, and a tree. On the way to work, my car skid on ice and I lost control.  Ultimately, the car hit a tree.  The force of the impact pushed the driver’s side front tire into the car; the car was totaled. I was immobilized and it took the Jaws of Life to remove me from the vehicle.  Miraculously, I survived!  After six weeks in the hospital and five major surgeries, I was faced with a decision of a lifetime: amputation.

The accident left my left leg critically damaged and no longer functional. After expert consultation, numerous recommendations from doctors, and lots of ‘prayer, I moved forward in faith. With use of my prosthetic leg I have been blessed with a new normal. Although my life’s journey has had unforeseen turns, my positive approach has yielded a renewed spirit. I am passionate, and committed to living life to the fullest! My intentional focus on God, and unwavering faith continue to lead and guide me.  

I wholeheartedly believe Jeremiah 29:11—“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Life’s journey is filled with many moments and each moment is
